Job Summary

SST seeks a Tax Manager in the Dallas area.

The Tax Manager will grow client relationships and provide exceptional guidance and expertise. In this role, our ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership skills and strong analytical problem-solving skills to support the client’s financial success, which aligns with the Firm’s mission and core values. Major Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide Clients with advice on a range of intricate Federal and State concerns, advise clients directly, supervise tax engagement teams, and collaborate with other technical specialists
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of accounting and taxation to provide clients in real estate, oil & gas, and various other for-profit sectors with planning, research, consulting, and compliance services that will help them achieve their goals and objectives
  • Managing all aspects of technical planning, research, consulting, and compliance services that will help them achieve their goals and objectives
  • Managing all aspects of technical planning, research, consulting, and compliance for corporations, pass-through entities (S Corps, Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies and Trusts) and their owners
  • Ensuring that assignments are accomplished on time and within the budget
  • Oversee performance evaluation and direction, mentor and develop junior colleagues to advance their technical and professional abilities by participating in a mentorship program
  • Responsible for participating in the in-house CPE classes developed internally and provided by the Firm
  • Assist in researching technical issues, writing technical memorandums, preparing analyses, and participating in IRS audits on behalf of clients
  • Responsible for managing clients, which included writing proposals, engagement letters, budgeting, staffing, and billing

Requirements & Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following basic qualifications.

  • CPA licenses is required
  • Degree in accounting and or related field
  • 5+ years of recent progressive tax experience at a public accounting firm,
  • Experience in professional services firm handling real estate, Oil & Gas, or professional services a PLUS
  • Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, and combines state tax returns
  • Strong financial accounting background, i.e. debits and credits
  • Demonstrated project management, supervisory, and leadership skill
  • Strong tax research and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Good communication, both verbal and written, and a professional demeanor
